What does the American-Made Index tell you?

The American-Made Index looks beyond the location of final assembly. Cars.com considers five factors: assembly location, U.S. and Canadian parts content, engine origins, transmission origins, and the U.S. manufacturing workforce. That broader view helps a shopper who wants to understand how a vehicle connects to American manufacturing.

Acura’s results give these models a credible place on an American-built shopping list. The ranking measures manufacturing factors; it does not establish which vehicle will be the best fit for your family, or which one you will enjoy driving most. Use it to identify candidates, then explore the differences that matter once you take the wheel.

Does American assembly mean every part is American-made?

No. An Acura can be assembled in Ohio using components from the United States and other countries. Final assembly and parts origin answer different questions, and the automobile parts-content label helps you distinguish them. It may appear with the window sticker or as a separate label.

The label lists the final assembly point and the countries of origin for the engine and transmission. It also reports U.S./Canadian parts content by value. That percentage combines the two countries and is calculated on a carline basis, rather than as an individual parts audit of that exact VIN. A high percentage therefore does not mean that every part was made in the United States.

For the Integra in particular, do not assume one transmission origin covers every configuration. NHTSA’s 2026 report includes Integra entries with U.S. and non-U.S. transmission origins. Check the label on the vehicle you are considering when transmission origin matters to your decision.

Are all Acura models assembled in the United States?

No. The 2026 Acura ADX is assembled in Mexico, so American assembly does not describe every model in the Acura lineup. That distinction matters if U.S. final assembly is a requirement for your next purchase. The ADX may still appeal to you for other reasons, but it should not be grouped with the Ohio-assembled models on that basis.

Manufacturing information also belongs to a particular model year and configuration. If you are shopping a different year or a pre-owned Acura, check that vehicle’s documentation rather than applying this 2026 list to it.

Acura Integra

The 2026 Integra brings a different kind of appeal with its five-door liftback body and available six-speed manual transmission.
