Drivers who want to get the most out of their time on the roads of Tennessee will find no better partner than the 2021 Acura NSX. By pairing a 75-degree, 3.5L DOHC V6 engine and dry sump lubrication with three independently operated electric motors, the engineers at Acura have developed a unique, rewarding union of power and precision. Drivers can experience Super Handling All-Wheel Drive while enjoying up to 573 hp! The combination of four power sources, a 9-speed dual-clutch transmission, and computer-assisted shifting make the NSX one of the smoothest, most responsive supercars available today!

Hand-Assembled Engine

Even in a high-tech machine like the Acura NSX, human hands are an essential component of the manufacturing process. A twin-turbocharged 3.5L DOHC V6 engine primarily powers the 2021 NSX; it is hand-assembled by skilled, attentive, and highly specialized engineers. Working together, the engine and electric motors produce a combined peak 573-hp and 476 lb-ft of torque, which translates into a G-crushing 0 – 60 MPH in 2.7 seconds, and a heart-pounding track top speed of 191 MPH!

Powertrain System

A change from earlier NSX models, the 2021 NSX possesses a longitudinally mid-mounted engine that provides an exceptional balance ratio of 42% front to 58% rear. The NSX’s powertrain uses dry sump lubrication and a 24-valve IN/EX VCT valvetrain to maximize the efforts of its primary engine. Three electric motors complement this engine’s raw power with precision handling capability.

9-Speed Dual Clutch Transmission

The race-ready 9-speed DCT brings it all to the table. With an electronically-operated wet dual-clutch, high-rigidity shift forks, double-cone synchronizers and electronic shift actuator, shift timing is precisely synchronized with power unit torque – and that means super-fast smooth-as-silk shifting.

Super Handling All-Wheel Drive

NSX Sport Hybrid Super Handling All-Wheel Drive applies true torque vectoring with every turn. The electric Twin Motor Unit (TMU) directs torque to each front wheel independently to maximize the effectiveness of each tire’s traction as the turn is executed, which translates to earlier acceleration, precise cornering, and faster lap times.

Sport Hybrid

Many of Acura’s engineers believe that hybrid technologies have been underutilized, but the NSX’s sport hybrid system is starting to change that! In this vehicle, a 47 hp electric motor charges the lithium-ion battery and makes it easier to shift smoothly. Two 36 hp electric twin motors rest over the front axle, and each can act independently to give your tires a boost of hybrid power when you’re entering a sharp turn. At the track, Launch Mode can slice off .5 seconds and deliver pressed-back-in-your-seat Gs the instant you release the brake.

Integrated Dynamics System

Thanks to its Integrated Dynamics System, the 2021 NSX can perform admirably in a wide variety of situations and circumstances. With this system, drivers can choose between four driving modes—Quiet, Sport, Sport Plus, and Track—depending on the energy or subtlety that they require at any given time.

Exterior

Engineering is an Art

The 2021 Acura NSX is extraordinarily eye-catching, and its one-of-a-kind appearance signals much more than simple, superficial style. The engineers at Acura have derived the NSX’s elegant exterior from years of precision tests and experiments; its aerodynamic, multi-material frame is optimized for balance and precision in a wide variety of contexts. Additional standard features include, Jewel Eye LED headlights and futuristic flush-mounted door handles.

Planes and Curves

Long, aerodynamic side mirror extensions prevent air disruption and provide excellent visibility beyond the large rear intakes. Air entering from front grilles cools the Twin Motor Unit, exits through these vents, and is reintroduced to the rear intakes downstream. Seven heat exchangers are positioned behind the front and side grilles to provide cooling for the engine, transmission, front motors, battery, and other components. Visible fender peaks help the driver better position the car in curves

Airflow Management

Even small components can have a significant impact on wind resistance and speed. The NSX supercar takes aerodynamics one step further, using artful design to stream air within, without and across the entire vehicle. By reintroducing air that serves thermal purposes upstream, front and rear power unit components, brakes and other systems are cooled as aerodynamics are optimized.

Angles and Contrasts

Floating C-pillars increase airflow to rear engine vents. Flush door handles allow uninterrupted airflow to the side vents and pop out to greet the driver when the smart key is sensed. Slender A-pillars help create a panoramic view from the cockpit. Fender vent assists in brake cooling and reduces pressure build-up in wheel well. Standard wheels were engineered to provide the greatest strength with the least weight to make the 2021 NSX a true track competitor.

Interior

Comfortable cockpit

The interior features in the 2021 NSX were selected to maximize the capabilities of the driver while minimizing the distractions that can make touring dangerous and less fulfilling. NSX drivers can master every aspect of Tennessee’s open roads thanks to the NSX illuminated steering wheel–mounted controls and its multi-function Display Audio screen. What’s more, a USB audio interface with smartphone compatibility offers drivers just as much control over the airwaves! Have a seat and enjoy the comfort offered by Milano leather seating, Dual-Zone Automatic Climate Control, and Quiet Ride Acoustic Management Technology.

Elite Comfort

The aggressively-shaped bolsters are smooth leather for ease of ingress/egress. Alcantara® is at the center of the sports seats to provide grip and reduce lateral movement. Key interior surfaces are ergonomically padded to support knees and elbows, providing additional supercar comfort and stability. Drivers can maximize the usefulness of the NSX’s two-position seating memory by choosing to upgrade to the four-way power seat adjusters and four-way power lumbar support.

ELS Studio® Premium Audio

A supercar deserves a super sound system! Custom-built for NSX, with nine speakers (including two super-charged door speakers and an ELS-first rear-center speaker) and all-new lightweight components, all driven by 580 watts of amplification is the ELS Studio Premium Audio system. Tuned by Grammy® award winner Elliot Scheiner, it’s music that stirs the soul with vivid clarity and visceral bass response, unleashed in a private studio that travels at speeds close to 200 MPH. Without fear, drivers can access all of their favorite country music with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality.

Display Audio Touchscreen

NSX drivers can outfit their supercar with either a 7-inch or an 8-inch Display Audio electrostatic touchscreen. No matter which option you choose, your Display Audio screen will be equipped with voice-recognition technology. From your Display Audio interface, you’ll be able to utilize Acura Satellite-Linked Navigation and HD Digital Traffic monitoring.

Power of Acoustics

NSX leaps from hushed to hellion in a single bound. In Quiet mode, the NSX runs virtually silent; in Track mode, every note of peak performance is in a full-throated growl. The sound satisfies on a gut level, both on the street and inside the acoustically-tuned cabin, where engine sound correlates with dynamic mode.

USB Audio Interface

NSX drivers will find two USB ports in the cockpit of their vehicle. The first, located in the glove box, offers 1.0-amp charge capability. The second port, located in the center console, offers 1.5-amp charging as well as smartphone-compatible audio integration

Sweeping Visibility

Connection to the road demands sweeping visibility, a quality embraced by NSX engineers dating back to the first-generation NSX. The 2021 NSX is engineered with ultra-slim A-pillars crafted using an innovative, 3D bent-and-quenched fabrication process that produces ultra-high tensile strength. Adding to the openness is the low meter visor, the uniquely shaped steering wheel, a frameless rearview mirror and side mirrors on slender stalks for optimum high-speed visibility.

Safety

Perfected protection

Safety is of the utmost importance when you have 573 hp under the hood and the ability to hit a max speed of 191 mph. Balance is struck from the inside out with a completely clean-sheet design and a multi-material space frame that forms the foundation for instant response in steering, throttle, and brakes. Vehicle Stability Assist, Traction Control, and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System compose the NSX’s first line of defense against disaster, but these aren’t its only standard safety features.

Robotic MIG Welding

It begins with the assembly of the multi-material space frame, joined by robotic MIG welding – an automobile industry first. Next comes robotic tooling of the inner and outer hood, door and hatch panels.

Aluminum Ablation Castings

Ablation casting – another world-first Acura engineering innovation – is utilized in key crush zones, helping ensure top crash safety performance while maintaining optimal structural rigidity.

Airbag Safety

No safety feature can replace a full suite of airbags in an emergency. The 2021 Acura NSX is equipped with single-stage driver, dual-stage passenger, and multiple threshold front airbags. Front-side and one-row side-curtain airbags, which also come standard in the NSX, are activated with a rollover sensor.

Vehicle Stability Assist

With Super Handling All-Wheel Drive, you’re going to be able to push the NSX through a variety of amazing twists and turns. Even during your most daring maneuvers, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) and Traction Control will allow your tires to keep a stable grip on the road.

Tire Pressure Monitoring System

The tires in high-performance, racetrack-ready supercars must be prepared for a great deal of stress. When it comes to vehicle maintenance, knowledge is more than half the battle. The Tire Pressure Monitoring System in the NSX will let you keep close tabs on the status of your tires; you’ll never have to guess when they’re due for a fill or a change

Corner and Backup Sensors

In high-performance vehicles like the NSX, monitoring every angle and blind spot from the driver’s seat can be something of a challenge. The NSX has been equipped with smart corner and backup sensors that will help you stay alert and in control when you’re on the go.
