The dynamically-shaped body starts with a striking Diamond Pentagon grille which is now thinner with a chrome surround in most models. The sculpted rear design is accented with new rectangular dual exhaust finishers and black taillight surrounds on the LED-illuminated taillights. Once the engine roars to life, Jewel Eye® LED headlights and taillights ensure that both arrival and departure are mesmerizing. The RDX features standard 19-inch alloy wheels and your choice of nine exterior paint colors.
Each RDX comes standard with an ultra-wide panoramic moonroof for great views of Nashville sunsets. You and your passengers can enjoy the spaciousness, light, and fresh air.
A-Spec® amplifies the already aggressive RDX exterior design. Fifteen-spoke, 20-inch Shark Gray alloy wheels, as well as an assertive front bumper complete with fog lights, give this SUV unmistakable presence in a crowd. Even the smallest details—dark exterior trim accents, a matte-black diffuser, dual exhaust outlets—add to its impressive look, all of it proudly finished with prominent A-Spec badging.
The RDX packs a direct-injected 16-Valve, 2.0-Liter DOHC VTEC® turbocharged engine. There is 272 horsepower and 280 lb.-ft. of torque, which means quick acceleration and sharper throttle response. The throttle and braking systems in the 2022 RDX are even more responsive. This powerful yet efficient turbocharged engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. This setup takes full advantage of the turbo engine’s low-end torque and, whether you are in full automatic mode or using the steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters, gear changes are quick and seamless.
SH-AWD offers high-performance dry-road handling while providing all-weather advantages of all-wheel drive. By continuously directing engine power to match weight distribution, available traction, driver input, and other conditions, SH-AWD provides seamless power transitions and liberating agility. When distributing torque to the rear wheels, up to 100% of that torque can be distributed to either the right-rear or left-rear wheel, creating incredible control and agility, even on sometimes-slippery Tennessee roads.
Inside the RDX, Acura’s Integrated Dynamics System (IDS) offers four unique drive modes that match the dynamic responses of the SUV to both your mood and your driving environment: Normal, Comfort, Sport, and Snow. The turn of a dial instantly adjusts many aspects of how the vehicle and driver engage. Depending on the drive mode selected, you can increase the throttle response and adjust shift points, steering feel, and SH-AWD settings (if equipped). With the Advance Package, you can further personalize your RDX with adjustments to the suspension settings.
The Acura True Touchpad Interface is a driver-centric command center with a 10.2-inch HD display. The “touch” was moved from the dash-mounted display to an ergonomically friendly tactile surface in front of the center armrest. The pad features absolute positioning; where you touch on the pad is where you engage on the display. The result? A natural, instinctive, nearly effortless command of navigation, music, smartphone, and vehicle information, all while keeping you focused on the drive ahead.
The RDX also features a power-operated and height adjustable tailgate, Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ compatibility, Smart Entry and Smart Start, and AcuraLink™ Connected Services with 4G LTE in-car Wi-Fi (requires a data plan). The 12-way heated driver and passenger sport seats provide seating comfort for five, and the fully-flat rear floor provides first-class seating comfort in all three rear seating positions.
The RDX includes Acura ELS Studio 3D premium audio, a 16-channel, 710-watt system featuring four ultra-slim Highline™ ceiling-mounted speakers – available in high grades. Developed by Acura and Panasonic and tuned by Grammy-winning music producer, Elliot Scheiner, Acura ELS Studio 3D audio delivers incredible fidelity and dynamic range, while adding a new dimension of sound to the listening experience perfect for listening to any music genre.
Acura’s next-generation Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure absorbs and disperses frontal impact energy more evenly around the car, so less of it transfers to the vehicle’s occupants. Moreover, frontal crash compatibility is designed into the structure, so in the event of a collision with a smaller or larger vehicle, the occupants of both vehicles, not just those in the Acura, are more protected. The structure around the doors is four to five times stronger than traditional-grade automotive steel — enhanced by laser welding, hot stamping, and the use of ultra-high-strength steel — to improve cabin strength and the chance of literally walking out the door after an impact.
All RDX models come standard with the full suite of AcuraWatch™ safety and driver assist technologies including: Collision Mitigation Braking System™ with Forward Collision Warning, Road Departure Mitigation with Lane Departure Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow and Lane Keeping Assist (LKAS). The 2022 AcuraWatch system has been upgraded to use a camera for Traffic Sign Recognition and more accurate speed limit information.
Standard auto-high-beam headlights automatically dim when other vehicles are detected, while the outer low-beam projectors remain on to light the road ahead. Every RDX comes with the multi-view rear camera with dynamic guidelines and three selectable views. The now-standard blind spot information system continuously monitors behind and to the sides of the RDX for other vehicles, helping you confidently change lanes. This technology extends nearly 100 feet behind the vehicle, four times further than previous models. When in reverse, the available Rear Cross Traffic Monitor uses radar to detect vehicles approaching from the side and can alert you to their presence with an audible warning and visual alerts in the rear camera display.

This is my second Acura RDX. I bought a used 2019 a few years ago and loved it! I decided to trade my 2019 in and buy a new 2022 RDX when they came out. I had to wait a few months longer but so worth the wait. Lenny K was my salesperson for both cars. His level of knowledge about the cars and honestly his customer service is amazing. He provides customer service that you just don’t get elsewhere anymore and that is why I am a repeat customer.
