Think Versatile!

2017 RDX

The 2017 Acura RDX brings power, efficiency, and aggressive styling to the luxury crossover SUV segment that Tennessee drivers have never seen before. Its versatility makes it an ideal option for the Nashville city dweller, the country adventurer or even the Weekend Warrior!  Space enough to pile in a weekend Home Dept run or four of your friends for a night out on Broadway, the 2017 Acura RDX can do it all.  Its high-tech feature offerings keep you connected, safe, and comfortable, no matter the road ahead. Better yet, it maintains a sporty stature and provides plenty of space within the cabin, giving you the best of both worlds.

“Chief among the RDX’s virtues are space and value for your money. Let’s start with the first. Although a “compact” SUV, the RDX has plenty of family-friendly space — so much so that you could almost consider it an alternative to midsize SUVs like the Lexus RX 350. Should you need a backseat big enough to affix a rear-facing baby seat, or conversely, a pair of growing teenagers, the RDX is better suited to the task than most other vehicles in the segment.” ~

Motor Trend
“In our First Test review, we were impressed with the RDX’s powerful naturally aspirated in a segment full of turbocharged four-cylinder engines. With the 279-hp V-6 and six-speed auto and all-wheel-drive combo, our RDX tester hit 60 mph in 6.2 seconds, putting it near the head of its class. Though not the sportiest model in its class, we were impressed by its ride and handling balance.” ~ Motor Trend

U.S. News & World Report
“The 2017 Acura RDX does well with auto reviewers based on the data and reviews that fuel our rankings. Whether you’re in the driver’s seat or just along for the ride, you’ll enjoy the comfortable, quiet interior and ample cabin space. Don’t think it’s all prim and proper, though: A V6 engine boasts all the power you need for highway cruising, and a large cargo space makes the RDX capable of handling a weekend getaway or hauling kids and their soccer gear.” ~ U.S. News & World Report

Efficient. Powerful.

Everything from the 2017 Acura RDX’s capable V6 engine to its remarkable suspension tuning and responsible steering system has been engineered to function seamlessly. And it all comes together in quite an innovative manner.

3.5L i-VTEC Engine

This standard powertrain for the 2017 Acura RDX is made entirely of aluminum to ensure a lighter weight for this crossover overall. It churns out a robust 279 hp and 252 lb-ft of torque, yet it still achieves quite impressive fuel economy ratings. With front-wheel drive, the latest Acura RDX reaches up to an EPA-estimated 28 mpg highway and 20 mpg city, and all-wheel drive systems remain competitive at EPA-estimated 27 mpg highway and 19 mpg city.**

Variable Cylinder Management

To achieve a noteworthy blend of high fuel economy and powerful output, the 2017 Acura RDX relies upon Variable Cylinder Management. This system automatically shifts to 3-cylinder usage when on the highway to boost fuel efficiency, but it also intuitively knows when all cylinders are needed for maximum performance.

Sequential SportShift Paddle Shifters

The glory of the 6-speed automatic transmission Sequential SportShift paddle shifters is that they allow you complete control at your fingertips, and they simultaneously maintain smooth shifts no matter what. Select different drive modes depending on your driving desires, including Sport for full manual mode or Drive for increased fuel economy.

All-Wheel Drive with Intelligent Control

Unlike all-wheel drive systems on other automobiles, the 2017 Acura RDX boasts one that optimizes traction in dry and slippery conditions alike while regulating power use to keep fuel economy up to par. It detects subpar road conditions on its own, prompting torque distribution to all four wheels on wet surfaces for ultimate traction. Otherwise, power is directed to the front wheels during normal driving for optimum fuel economy.

Performance Braking

As a luxury crossover SUV that clearly prizes performance, precision braking is crucial, which is why the 2017 Acura RDX employs Electronic Brake Distribution and Brake Assist systems. The former relies on anti-lock brake sensors for enhanced performance and stability, while the latter takes action in the event of an imminent collision to keep you and your loved ones safe.

Steering System

With electronic power steering, the 2017 Acura RDX handles smoothly on curvy roads and tight turns alike. Better yet, electric power assist doesn’t rid the engine of too much power, and the steering column remains rigid to decrease steering wheel vibration.

Distinctly Acura

Aerodynamics and efficiency were of utmost importance when Acura designed the latest RDX model, yet its newly aggressive stance hardly strips it of its clean-cut sophistication. Machine-polished, 18-inch wheels make quite the statement whether you’re cruising along the highway or you’re parked at home, and Jewel Eye LED headlights make a world of difference when you’re driving in the dark. Better yet, the rear of the latest RDX incorporates LED taillights, complete with light-pipe design, rounding out this model’s sleek exterior.

Jewel Eye Headlights

Standard on every 2017 Acura RDX model regardless of trim, the remarkable Jewel Eye LED headlights are not only pleasing aesthetically thanks to their jewel-like look, but they illuminate the road ahead, unlike halogen headlamps. Each of five precise LEDs per headlight has its function, with the three exterior lights distributing low beams to see what’s immediately ahead and the two inner ones providing high beams for illuminating distant objects.

Multi-Angle Rear Camera

This feature offers a 170-degree view of the space behind the RDX, unobstructed by the vehicle’s pillars. It assures peace of mind whenever you put your car in reverse.

Keyless Access System

This feature automatically unlocks the doors when you approach when carrying the key, for convenient, fumble-free access to your vehicle.

Elegant and highly functional

Inside the 2017 Acura RDX cabin, there is plenty of room for both passengers and cargo. When it comes to features, you’re guaranteed nothing but luxury, whether you go with the base model or upgrade to the Advance package. Opt for the former, and you’ll get heated front seats, a 10-way power driver’s seat, rear adjustable vents, and a power tailgate. Choose the fully equipped RDX, and you’re in for the likes of the Acura navigation system with voice recognition, AcuraLink real-time traffic with traffic rerouting, remote engine start, and more.

Ergonomic Front Seats

The front seats of the RDX provide a plush feel with plenty of support for all-day comfort, and dual-level heaters for cold days. They also offer power adjustability, and the driver seat features two memory settings.

Rear Seats

The second row of the RDX offers seating for up to three adults, with plenty of legroom. With two passengers, a center armrest with two built-in cup holders can be folded down.

Automatic Climate Control

Both driver and passenger can enjoy their own microclimates with this sophisticated climate control system. A GPS-linked climate control system is also available, an upgrade that allows the climate control system to account for the sun’s location and intensity when adjusting interior temperature.

Bluetooth HandsFreeLink

It’s easy to stay connected in your RDX with the Bluetooth hands-free system. Any Bluetooth-enabled cell phone can be paired to the RDX, giving easy access to phone and text functions via the controls on the dash or the steering wheel.

Siri Eyes Free

This technology proves ideal for iPhone owners equipped with Siri. Tack the Technology package to your 2017 Acura RDX if you are, and you can interact with your Siri interface without ever taking your hands off the wheel to send texts, check scores, arrange appointments, and more.

Cargo Volume

Behind the rear seat, you’ll have 26.1 cubic feet of dedicated space, but you can fold the seats flat to open up 76.9 cubic feet. When the seats are up, though, you can conceal your load with a retracting cargo cover.  Golf clubs, gardening supplies, or even the family pet will fit with ease, experience it for yourself at Gary Force Acura.

Advancing auto safety features

The 2017 Acura RDX is possibly the safest version of this luxury crossover to date. On entry-level trims, you get safety-oriented features like a multi-angle camera, and as you move through the lineup, you can add lane keep assist, a blind spot information system, a rear cross-traffic monitor, a collision mitigation braking system, and adaptive cruise control. With the Advance package, you even get parking sensors to make even the toughest spaces entirely possible.

ACE Body Structure

The ACE body structure shows that Acura is concerned about safety from the very frame of the RDX. If the RDX is involved in an accident, the frame is engineered to actively redistribute energy away from passengers and crumple in just the right places to reduce the risk of injury.

Lane Keeping Assist System

Never worry again that you’re straying from the lane you’re currently occupying with Acura’s Lane Keeping Assist System. It uses a forward-facing camera to let you know when you steer out of a lane without first detecting it, and the system then kicks into action, moving the steering wheel to push the car back where it started. The driver still maintains complete control of the wheel, though, regardless of the slight tug to nudge the car back in line.

Every RDX comes standard with six airbags, including two front, two front side, and two side curtain airbags. These two-stage multiple threshold airbags adjust their rate of inflation depending on crash severity, to help prevent injuries.

Child Safety

Chances are, if you’re shopping for a luxury crossover SUV, you have family in mind, and keeping all members safe is of utmost importance. Luckily, the 2017 Acura RDX comes with LATCH anchors, perfect for LATCH-compatible car seats. Plus, the windows and moonroof incorporate an auto-reverse technology to keep them from closing if fingers are in the way.

Blind Spot Information System

Radar detectors on the back of the RDX let this optional feature alert you to vehicles in the blind spot “warning zones.” Indicator lights illuminate on the front windshield pillars, so you know if a vehicle is in your blind spot.  The pillar light flashes if you signal a lane change with a vehicle in the alert zone.

Collision Mitigation Braking

This AcuraWatch Plus feature uses those same radar sensors as the Adaptive Cruise Control system to sense whether a frontal collision is likely. If it detects a potential frontal collision, this safety feature can automatically apply the brakes and slow or stop the RDX.
